Paintball Maestro in Emmy Nominated Documentary July 16 2010 Paintball Maestro in Emmy Nominated Documentary Tom Kaye, inventor of the 68Automag and the new Shoebox mini-compressor wrote in to let us know that the National Geographic Documentary – The Skyjacker That Got Away – has been nominated for an Emmy award. Tom mentions this because he appears in this documentary as a scientific expert, working alongside the FBI and applying new scientific and forensic techniques to the FBI’s most sensational cold case file. The documentary traces the FBI’s efforts to bring one D.B. Cooper to justice. Most of you are probably too young to remember, but back in 1971, the unidentified man referring to himself as D. Cooper hijacked a Boeing 727 for a ransom of $200,000 and then parachuted from the plane somewhere over the forests of Washington state, never to be seen or heard from again. Many years later some of the ransom money was recovered along a riverbank, renewing interest in the case. A couple of years ago, enter one Tom Kaye – paleontologist – toting some thirty-plus years of scientific advances. Working with the FBI and a team he assembled, Tom was able to add some very interesting information to the case. |
